Joyeux Noël

Dear Family and Friends,

Happy Christmas! We’re in the midst of some of our favorite holiday traditions; advent readings and candles, elves on the shelf (named Leviticus and John by Elodie), singing carols, and baking lots of family recipes. We hope you are enjoying this special season. In a typical year, we love sending cards in the post because of the joy it is to hold something in our hands and know it will be held in yours over the Christmas season (or, as is sometimes the case with international mail, closer to Easter). However, this year is decidedly atypical. It’s made so special of course by the arrival of our fifth child, Aaron Thomas Appel.

Aaron is a sweet and loving baby and an incredible blessing to all our family. He helped us decide to send an electronic Christmas card this year.

This time of year, we feel keenly the physical distance between us and are thinking of you. We’re thankful for God’s grace in this and trust the way He tends to our relationships. Thank you for your care and prayer for our family. Please know our prayers and warmest thoughts for you and yours. May you know the nearness of our God who chose to dwell with us. May His light guide your steps and chase away the darkness. May you rest secure under the care and protection of our Good Shepherd.

Love,

The Appels

PS - The bonus of an electronic Christmas card – more room for photos!
